The French Trolling Each Other on Yahoo News.fr

Yahoo France - Another Massacre in Syria.  After learning about yet another bloody massacre in Syria I decided to check out the French reports. I do not always trust American media. When I get my news, I like to take a look at different sources from nations with different agendas. I found from the French media coverage that they too think that the Assad government is responsible for these atrocities.

LIVING LANGUAGE - MANDARIN CHINESE I

Students of Indo-European language often say, that if they are going to learn another language, they would like to learn Chinese. It is one of the most spoken, and certainly one of the most useful languages on earth.

I think that this will be one of the most difficult journeys I have ever been on. It is going to take me many years to be fluent in Chinese. With the two babies, I will not have time to study at home. So, my solution is very simple. I am going to take it slowly.

FrapaneseGirl - YouTube Polyglot discusses her language learning method

It is a wonderful thing to find other polyglots out there. It is even more wonderful to find other female polyglots. We are a rare breed!

Polyglots are usually men, and they are usually left-handed.

So, I would like to introduce you to FrapaneseGirl. Please Visit her BLOG and her YouTube channel.

Hangul Korean Alphabet in photos

Hangul Alphabet
In an effort to squeeze in a little more language learning time, I downloaded many of my Pimsleur lessons into my I-Pod. I listen to them when I walk to campus, the bus or just take one of the babies out for a walk. I also listen to these lessons when I am working out in the gym. When you are short on time, you must think of creative ways of utilizing your time.

If you are not familiar with the Pimsleur method, it is an organic language learning method. I will get into it a little more in another post.

So, on my I-pod I have Korean, Chinese, Italian and Russian. The Italian lessons are too easy, I will be deleting them and looking for something more advanced. Chinese, Korean and Russian will remain.

Korean is a beautiful language in my book. Korean is descended from Proto-Korean, Old Korean, Middle Korean and Modern Korean. There are some arguments as to whether or not it is an Altaic Language. I think it is a lovely language.

As you read more of this blog, you will see that I simply included a series of pictures of the Korean Alphabet and some Korean Words. I know many of you prefer looking at the images rather than reading my boring language diatribes. :--)

Business Spanish - Let me hook you up to the information

I finished writing a thirty page business proposal for the Mexican market. It was not an easy task. I had to read a couple books about business culture in Latin America, and conduct a lot of research. I think that learning key business phrases in our target languages is important, especially if we are learning that language to be more employable.

Enjoy the following video about basic Spanish words for business.

If you continue reading this blog entry, and I hope you do, I will link several useful websites for learning business words and phrases in the beautiful Spanish language.

Kazakh language

Hello Everyone,

I have been thinking the last few weeks about what foreign language I should blog about. There are so many interesting ones out there, it is hard to choose. For the past month I have been taking a Law Class, one of my classmates is a lawyer from Kazakhstan. She is a very nice woman, and also very intelligent. She told me that Kazakh is a little bit like Turkish and a little bit like Arabic, but it uses the Cyrillic alphabet. I am fascinated by the idea that language families grow, shift, and move together. They evolve just like humans and all life forms evolve.  Languages in a way, are life. They are intellectual phenomena uniting all people. As we evolve, they evolve. So I decided to post some little tid-bits about the Kazakh language.
